___Our First Build

_____________________________________________________________________________

We started building the Teardrop in September of '08. Building has been a real challenge as we thought we would be finished in the Spring of '09 and camping at every chance we had.

The hardest part is wishing our Teardrop was finished and hearing stories from our other Teardroppin' friends of whom we've met online through the forum and FaceBook who have been camping in theirs all along. We have to remember that they too built their Tears and had to wait for them to be finished and make tough decisions. Our time will come!!!

We've figured out that if we didn't have to make so many decisions in the building process, we would have been camping by now. Besides the fact that we are building in only our spare time, schedules have gotten in the way, we volunteer for too many things and our 6 kids have activities and needs to tend to constantly. All of this WILL change when we finish!!

We have to continually remember how long and how much time we will spend in the Tear when it is finally finished and not think of what we aren't getting finished. At this point we can only dream of traveling and camping in our baby.

We even have to stop ourselves from buying accessories and nick-naks for the Tear, although it's tough, I want to outfit the entire thing so that I am ready when the time comes. But we can't do that because we're not sure of everything that we will need till the end. Arrgghhh!!

The decisions we have to make always seem to lead to a new decision on the build....*if we do this we'll have to do that or this will happen*. It's very tiring but we know that at every made decision it's one step closer to being finished. YAY!

We just ordered some trim materials from Grant Whipp with Lil'Bear Tag-Alongs and are anxiously waiting for them to arrive. Although when they do arrive I'm sure that there will be something we need to finish before we can install the trim. No doubt!

Fall is almost here and we're hoping we get out just once before we have to store the Tear for the winter. That in itself will bring tears to my eyes!!

___What is a Teardrop Camper..

So many people have no clue as to what a Teardrop Camper is. This article explains it really well.

We found out about them through a program on The Travel Channel called RV Crazy. Once I saw the Teardrop segment I knew that I wanted my own!! So there started our obsession with the Teardrop Camper.
